Rep. Parkhurst Succeeds in Funding for Opioid Epidemic

Kankakee, IL – The budget passed on May 31 included much needed funding to fight the opioid epidemic in the 79th District. Parkhurst successfully obtained a budget allocation of a $400,000 grant to Duane Dean Behavior Health Center for community diversion programming.

“The opioid epidemic touches the lives of the people in Kankakee County and the 79th District. I worked with budget leaders and Duane Dean to get this into the budget to fight the opioid epidemic,” Rep. Parkhurst said.

Duane Dean Behavioral Health provides comprehensive services through integrated programs, including prevention and educational resources for substance use/abuse and the disease of addiction.
